BIG EAST Players of the Week - Men's Soccer - 9-2-13

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Samuel Geiler, Seton Hall, M, Fr.
In his first two games as a collegian, Geiler scored three goals in a 1-0-1 week for the Pirates. In the season opener, he scored once in a 3-0 blanking of Rhode Island. In a 3-3 tie against Drexel, last year's CAA regular-season champion, Geiler found the net twice. He had seven shots on goal for the two games.

BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Eric Miller, Creighton, B, Jr.
Miller helped the Bluejays to shutout wins over No. 14 Tulsa 2-0 and Cal-Poly 3-0. A Preseason All-BIG EAST selection, he anchored the backline and scored a goal on a header in the Cal-Poly victory.

BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Alex Bolowich, Creighton, GK, Jr.
Bolowich made seven saves in a 2-0 shutout against No. 14 Tulsa in the Bluejays' season opener. He added two saves while playing the first half of the 3-0 win against Cal-Poly.

BIG EAST Rookie of the Week
Julian Gressel, Providence, F, Fr.
Gressel led the Friars to a 3-2 win against Quinnipiac at home and a 2-1 victory over Holy Cross on the road. He scored a pair of goals in the Quinnipiac match and added an assist at Holy Cross.

BIG EAST Honor Roll

Zach Steinberger, Butler, M, So.
Assisted on the first goal and scored the game-winning tally in a 2-1 win against Western Michigan in the season opener.

Timo Pitter, Creighton, M, So.
Pitter scored one goal and assisted on the other in a 2-0 win against No. 14 Tulsa. He added a goal in a 3-0 victory over Cal-Poly.

Steve Neumann, Georgetown, F, Sr.
Scored both goals in a 2-0 victory at Stanford in a 1-1 week. Had five shots on goal in the match.

Wilder Arboleda, Providence, F, Sr.
Scored a goal in a 3-2 win against Quinnipiac and tallied the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win at Holy Cross.

Jimmy Mulligan, St. John's, F/M, Sr.
Scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win against NJIT in the season opener.
