St. John’s Danaejah Grant leads the Red Storm to top-25 win with 27-point performance.

Danaejah Grant, St. John’s, 5-9, Sr., G
Grant led St. John’s to a notable win on Sunday afternoon, totaling a BIG EAST-best 27 points on 53-percent shooting against No. 18/17 South Florida. The senior guard shot 10-of-19 from the field while grabbing four rebounds and dishing four assists as the Red Storm claimed the 74-70 win. Grant played all but three minutes of the contest, committing just one miscue against the nationally ranked Bulls. The win over top-25 USF marked the second BIG EAST victory over a ranked opponent this season following Seton Hall’s 71-64 win over then-RV/24 Princeton on Nov. 19. St. John’s has a top-25 win to its credit in each of the last three seasons.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Dionna White, Georgetown, 5-5, Fr., G
White claims the top newcomer honor for the second straight week after leading Georgetown to the TD Bank Classic crown in Burlington, Vt. White averaged 17.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists against a pair of teams coming off 2015 NCAA Tournament appearances. Against Quinnipiac on Friday, white made 9-of-12 attempts from the field en route to 19 points, while grabbing six rebounds, dishing six assists and snagging three steals. In Saturday’s title match against St. Francis (N.Y.), the rookie guard scored 15 points off 7-of-12 shooting while making six steals and four dimes. She was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Dorothy Adomako, Georgetown, 6-1, So., G
The TD Bank Classic All-Tournament Team selection averaged 17.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals, 2.0 assists and .517 shooting in wins over Quinnipiac and St. Francis in Burlington, Vt.
Sarah Beal, Providence, 5-8, Jr., G
Beal led the Friars to a 2-0 mark with home wins over Hartford and Monmouth. The junior averaged 16.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and .522 shooting in the victories.
Allazia Blockton, Marquette, 6-0, Fr., G
Blockton led the Golden Eagles to a 2-1 mark last week, including a pair of wins at the FIU Turkey Slam. The rookie averaged 17.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and .513 shooting, highlighted by a 24-point, 11-rebound showing against FIU. Blockton made 10-of-13 attempts from the field against the host Panthers.  
Caroline Coyer, Villanova, 5-10, Sr., G
Coyer was tabbed the Lehigh Christmas City Classic MVP by leading the Wildcats to wins over Drexel (22 points, eight rebounds) and Lehigh (21 points, six rebounds, five assists). The senior added a 14-point, eight-assist showing in Nova’s Big Five opener against Saint Joseph’s on Tuesday.
Tabatha Richardson-Smith, Seton Hall, 6-0, Sr., F
Richardson-Smith led the Pirates to a 3-0 mark last week by averaging 16.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game, highlighted by an 18-point, eight-rebound showing against RV/RV North Carolina State on Thanksgiving night. The Pirates remain the only unbeaten team in the BIG EAST at 7-0.
