NEW YORK – Butler forward Kelan Martin has been selected BIG EAST Player of the Week in men’s basketball.  For the second time this season, Marquette forward Henry Ellenson has been chosen BIG EAST Freshman of the Week.  Both players led their respective teams to 2-0 weeks.

Kelan Martin, Butler, F, So.
Martin averaged 22.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and shot 60.7 percent from the field in a 2-0 week, which included career highs of 25 points and 11 rebounds in a 94-86 win over Tennessee.  Martin scored 45 points in only 40 minutes of play for the two games.  In a 93-66 victory over VMI, Martin had 20 points and eight rebounds.  He ranks eighth in the BIG EAST in scoring with a 14.8 mark.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Henry Ellenson, Marquette, F, Fr.
Ellenson averaged 17.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in wins over Wisconsin and San Jose State.  He collected his fifth double-double in 10 games this season with 15 points and 11 boards in a 57-55 win at Wisconsin.  Ellenson is averaging 16.5 points and 9.0 rebounds for the season.
 
BIG EAST Honor Roll
Roosevelt Jones, Butler, F, Sr.
Averaged 17.5 points, 6.5 assists and 5.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week.  Had 21 points, 10 assists and seven boards in a win versus Tennessee.
 
Isaiah Zierden, Creighton, G, Jr.
Averaged 17.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals in wins over Nebraska (83-67) and IUPUI (90-65).
 
D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera, Georgetown, G, Sr.
Scored 27 points in an 87-82 win over UNC-Wilmington and averaged 19.5 points and 4.4 assists in a 2-0 week.
 
Federico Mussini, St. John’s, G, Fr.
Led the Red Storm to a 2-0 week scoring team highs in wins over Syracuse (84-72) and Niagara (48-44).  Averaged 14.0 points and shot 7-of-14 from 3-point range.
 
Myles Davis, Xavier, G, Jr.
Averaged 15.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in two wins.  Shot 62.5 percent from the floor and tallied a season-high 17 points in a 65-55 win over No. 23/22 Cincinnati.
