DePaul's Cain Picked Freshman of the Week

NEW YORK -- Butler guard Kellen Dunham has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week after leading the Bulldogs to a pair of victories which included a 78-76 victory at No. 17/17 Cincinnati.  DePaul guard Eli Cain has been selected BIG EAST Freshman of the Week after helping the Blue Demons to a 2-0 week.

BIG EAST teams compiled an 8-1 record over the weekend and improved to 59-18 (.763) for the season against non-conference competition.

BIG EAST Player of the Week
Kellen Dunham, Butler, G, Sr.
Dunham averaged 21.5 points in a pair of wins, including a game-high 24 points in a 78-76 victory at No. 17/17 Cincinnati.  He scored 16 of his points in the second half which sparked a Bulldog rally.  Dunham added 19 points on 6-of-7 shooting in an 85-71 win against Indiana State.  The senior leads the BIG EAST in scoring with a 21.3 average and in free throw shooting, making 94.4 percent (34-of-36).
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Eli Cain, DePaul, G, Fr.
Cain averaged a team-leading 15.5 points in a 2-0 week for the Blue Demons.  He shot 70.6 percent from the floor, including 4-of-6 from 3-point range for the two games.  He had 20 points, three rebounds and three assists in 28 minutes in an 82-55 victory at Illinois-Chicago. 
 
BIG EAST Honor Roll
Bradley Hayes, Georgetown, C, Sr.
Had 21 points and eight rebounds in a 79-72 win over No. 14/19 Syracuse and averaged 16.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week.
 
Luke Fischer, Marquette, C, Jr.
Averaged 17.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in a 2-0 week.  He had a season-high 21 points in a win over Maine.
 
Ben Bentil, Providence, F, So.
Averaged 22.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in a 2-0 week.  His tip-in at the buzzer beat Rhode Island 74-72.
 
Ryan Arcidiacono, Villanova, G, Sr.
Scored 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field in an 86-72 victory at Saint Joseph’s.
 
Trevon Bluiett, Xavier, G, So.
Posted game highs of 21 points and 10 rebounds in 24 minutes in a 95-64 win against Western Kentucky.
