No. 12/13 Xavier and Marquette posted home wins on Tuesday which improved the BIG EAST’s non-conference record to 62-19 (.765).
Xavier used a 25-0 run in the first half to take any drama out of its game with Wright State.  The Musketeers won 90-55 to bring their record to 9-0, the best start in coach Chris Mack’s seven seasons.

Guard Trevon Bluiett has been one of the top performers in the conference thus far.  He scored a career-high 22 points and pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds.  The sophomore has reached double figures in scoring in every game this season and owns a 15.9 scoring average.

Marquette outscored San Jose State 40-31 in both halves in its 80-62 victory.  The Golden Eagles have won six in a row.

Forward Sandy Cohen III scored a career-high 24 points and Henry Ellenson added 20 points and eight rebounds.  Luke Fischer notched his third double-double of the season with 11 points and 13 rebounds.  Cohen made 6-of-10 from 3-point range.

Wednesday’s BIG EAST slate includes four games with St. John’s getting an early start at 5 p.m. on FS1 against Niagara at Carnesecca Arena.  The Red Storm are 3-0 this season on campus.

The action continues on FS1 at 7 p.m. with No. 15/18 Providence hosting Boston College.  The No. 15 AP ranking for the Friars is their highest since 2004.

Creighton plays in-state rival Nebraska at 8 p.m. on CBS Sports Network. The Bluejays have won the last four meetings against the Cornhuskers.
DePaul looks to extend its winning streak to four games when it travels to Drake.  That game will be carried by ESPN3 at 8 p.m.
