Conference Newcomer Quinnipiac claims offensive and defensive league awards

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Savanna Reilly, Quinnipiac, Sr., F
The veteran helped the Bobcats to their first 2-0 weekend this season with wins over Brown and No. 19 Old Dominion. Against Brown, Reilly tallied an assist while recording an assist and the overtime game-winning goal against ODU, for Quinnipiac’s first win against a ranked opponent.
 
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Olivia Golini, Quinnipiac, Fr., GK
Clocking in over 154 minutes in goal for the Bobcats, Golini went 2-0 on the weekend, registering a .800 save percentage. The freshman’s performance included her first career shutout with a four-save outing in a 2-0 win against Brown and a four-save performance against No. 19 Old Dominion in a 3-2 overtime win.

Emma McLaughlin, Villanova, Fr., F
With 10 minutes left on the clock, Laughlin secured the equalizer for Villanova in its league matchup against Temple. Sustaining her momentum, the rookie caged the game-winning goal six minutes later, giving the Wildcats a 3-2 victory and their first conference win this season.

Miller scored the game-winning goal in the Friars’ 3-2 overtime victory against Georgetown.
Erika Miller, Villanova, So., GK
The goalkeeper recorded nine saves in Villanova’s first conference victory over Temple.
Amanda Collins, UConn, So., F
Collins registered seven points on the weekend, including two goals against Liberty and one goal versus Yale.
Anna Middendorf, UConn, Sr., D
The defender helped the No.1 Huskies outshoot Liberty, 32-12, and Yale, 34-6, while also tallying a goal and an assist in UConn’s 8-1 win against Yale.
Svea Boker, UConn, Fr., F
The freshman recorded a team season-high four assists in No.1 UConn’s 7-2 win over Liberty and chipped in a goal in Huskies’ victory over Yale.
