Alexa Ben and Kelli Hubly led the Blue Demons to an upset victory at No. 7/2 Georgetown.

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Alexa Ben, DePaul, Jr., M
Ben was instrumental in the Blue Demons’ 2-0 week, highlighted by a two-goal performance at No. 7/2 Georgetown on Sunday afternoon, leading DePaul to the upset victory. Ben buried both shots she took against the Hoyas, including the game’s first score just 38 seconds into the contest. The junior then gave DePaul a two-goal cushion late in the first half with a strike in the 38th minute. The win halted Georgetown’s 14-game unbeaten streak and clinched a BIG EAST Championship First Round bye for DePaul, guaranteeing a top-two finish. Ben was also credited with three shots in Thursday’s 2-1 win over Providence.
 
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Kelli Hubly, DePaul, Sr., D
Hubly led the defensive effort for the Blue Demons last week, sparking a 2-0 record and clinching a BIG EAST Championship First Round bye. Against Providence on Thursday, Hubly helped limit the Friars to just two shots on goal while DePaul outshot PC 16-5 in total, surrendering just one corner kick. The senior also provided the assist on Madeline Frick’s game-winning goal in the 37th minute. Against No. 7/2 Georgetown on Sunday, Hubly was tasked with marking Georgetown leading scorer Grace Damaska. Damaska was held without a shot as DePaul scored a 4-1 upset victory.
 
BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Diana Poulin, St. John’s, Sr., GK
Poulin played all 180 minutes of the Red Storm’s 2-0 week, allowing just one goal while totaling 11 saves. The senior denied three shots in a 3-1 win at Xavier on Thursday before turning away eight shots in a 1-0 win against Villanova on Sunday as St. John’s clinched a spot in the BIG EAST Championship field. For the week, Poulin posted a .917 save percentage and 0.50 goals against average, earning her 31st career shutout and league-leading 11th clean sheet of the season.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Maddy Henry, Marquette, Fr., GK
Henry scored a pair of wins last week beginning with a 2-0 shutout of Villanova on Thursday. Against the Wildcats, Henry made eight saves and earned her fourth shutout of the year. In Sunday’s overtime thriller against Butler, the rookie denied two shots in just under 93 minutes as Marquette scored a 2-1 win to punch their postseason ticket and lead head coach Markus Roeders to his 300th career win. The Golden Eagles will have a shot at a share of the BIG EAST regular-season title when they face current conference leader DePaul on Friday.
 
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Serina Kashimoto, Butler, Sr., M
Kashimoto scored the game winner against Creighton on Thursday night in what could prove decisive in qualifying for the BIG EAST Championship. The senior followed with an assist in the Bulldogs’ 2-1 overtime setback at Marquette.
Darian Powell, Marquette, R-Sr., F
Powell totaled a goal and assist in a pivotal 2-1 overtime win over Butler on Sunday, securing head coach Markus Roeders’ career win No. 300 and clinching a spot in the BIG EAST Championship. Powell scored the game’s first goal in the 49th minute before dishing on Carrie Madden’s golden goal in the 93rd.
Madison Doherty, Providence, Jr., D
In a 1-1 week for the Friars, Doherty led the defensive unit which scored a shutout win on Sunday over Seton Hall to clinch a spot in the BIG EAST Championship field. The junior also provided a bit of offense, scoring the game-winning goal in the 38th minute against the Pirates. After trailing DePaul 2-0 at halftime on Thursday, Doherty anchored the defense which limited the Blue Demons to three second-half shots as the Friars closed the gap to 2-1.
Taryn Jakubowski, Creighton, Fr., M
Jakubowski kept the Bluejays in playoff contention with a dominant 6-1 win over Xavier in which the rookie had two goals and an assist. Jakubowski had four shots against the Musketeers and also totaled a pair of strikes in a setback to Butler on Thursday.
Hannah Luedtke, Butler, So., GK
In a 1-1 week for the Bulldogs, Luedtke posted an .833 save percentage and 0.98 goals against average, highlighted by a 2-0 shutout of Creighton on Thursday night. The win could prove decisive at season’s end as Butler and Crei
