BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week Abby Reed garners national honor.

CHICAGO – Abby Reed’s recent performance garnered nationwide acclaim on Thursday when espnW honored her as the National Soccer Player of the Week.

The DePaul senior forward had a goal and two assists in a 4-1 BIG EAST Conference victory over Creighton on Sept. 29 at Wish Field.

She followed that up with two goals and an assist in sparking the first-place Blue Demons to a 4-1 triumph at Seton Hall for their fifth win in a row.

On Monday, Reed was selected the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week.

Her eight goals and six assists this season have paved the way for a high-powered attack that is ranked No. 8 in the country in scoring offense, No. 9 in total goals, No. 12 in points per game and No. 14 in total points.

Individually, Reed is No. 12 in the country in points and No. 19 in assists. She takes a five-game point streak into Thursday night’s BIG EAST matchup at Butler and has racked up multiple points in her last three matches.

Reed is currently No. 16 among the NCAA’s active career leaders in goals and points. Transferring into Lincoln Park after her freshman season at Indiana State, Reed is third all-time in career goals and points at DePaul.
