MBB Minute -- Butler's Buzzer Beater Takes Down Northwestern In Gavitt Tipoff Games

Freshman Kamar Baldwin hit a 17-foot jumper with less than a second to play to lift Butler past Northwestern 70-68 in a Gavitt Tipoff Games contest at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Wednesday.  His basket broke the 17th tie of the game. Baldwin finished with 11 points.  Kelan Martin scored a team-high 22 points.  Andrew Chrabascz added 13 points and seven rebounds.  The Bulldogs were the only BIG EAST team in action on Wednesday.  BIG EAST teams are 17-1.  The Thursday schedule is a busy one with seven BIG EAST clubs in action.  The day starts early for Villanova with an 11:30 a.m. ET tip at the Charleston Classic.  The Wildcats meet Western Michigan in the first round.  Xavier starts at 1 p.m. with a game against Missouri (ESPNU) in the Tire Pros Invitational in Orlando, Fla. In the evening, there are three Gavitt Tipoff Games contests.  At 7 p.m., Providence visits Ohio State (BTN).  DePaul hosts Rutgers (FS1) at 8:30 p.m. at Allstate Arena.  Seton Hall plays at Iowa (BTN) at 9 p.m. Georgetown returns to campus for a game against Arkansas State (FS1) at McDonough Arena at 6:30 p.m.  Marquette is playing in the 2K Classic at Madison Square Garden.  The Golden Eagles meet Michigan (ESPN2) at 9:30 p.m.
