Davenport stuffed the stat sheet in a 2-0 week for the Golden Eagles, highlighted by an impressive win over No. 18/16 Arizona State on Saturday. In wins over the Sun Devils and St. Francis (Pa.), Davenport averaged 18.5 points and 10.5 rebounds, making nearly 71 percent of her attempts from the field and committing just one turnover in 63 minutes of action. The sophomore notched back-to-back double-doubles last week, bringing her league-leading season total to three. In Saturday’s win over ASU, Davenport had 14 points and 10 rebounds, making 7-of-8 attempts from the field. She enters the week as the league’s top rebounder on the season at 10.3 per game and is tied for second in the BIG EAST in scoring with teammate Allazia Blockton with an 18.3 average.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Kristen Spolyar, Butler, Fr., G
Spolyar repeats as the top rookie in the league, averaging 16.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals and .520 shooting, including a .500 clip from deep. In Wednesday’s win over Fort Wayne, Spolyar posted 16 points off 7-of-13 shooting, sinking 2-of-3 attempts from beyond the arc, and adding six caroms and a pair of steals. In a single-digit setback at Wisconsin on Sunday, the freshman guard totaled 17 points, six boards and three steals, connecting on 6-of-12 attempts from the field. Spolyar is the league’s highest scoring freshman so far, averaging 17.3 points per game to rank fifth among all BIG EAST players.
 
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Sarah Beal, Providence, Sr., G
Beal averaged 15.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.50 steals in the Friars’ 2-0 week.  She shot.522 from the field and .857 from the free-throw line.  In the Friars’ come-from-behind victory over Binghamton, Beal notched 17 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals.  She came up big for the Friars in the decisive second half, as she tallied 10 of her 17 points and added three assist and two steals.
Jessica January, DePaul, Sr., G
January led the Blue Demons to an impressive win over local rival Northwestern on Saturday night, totaling 25 points, six rebounds, six assists and four steals as No. 20/20 DePaul improved to 3-0 on the season.
Kaela Hilaire, Seton Hall, Fr., G
Hilaire finished a 2-1 week with 12.3 points, 5.0 assists and 4.3 steals per game. She scored 16 points and snagged six steals on Tuesday at Marist, then went for career highs of 17 points and eight assists on Thursday in the shorthanded-Pirates’ victory over Boston College. Hilaire leads the BIG EAST in steals (4.0) and lists third in assists (5.3).
Myah Mellman, Creighton, Jr., G
Mellman led the Bluejays to their first win of the season, scoring 18 points all of deep, sinking 6-of-7 attempts from beyond the arc while adding three rebounds and not committing a single turnover in 20 minutes of play. The six triples are the most by a BIG EAST player this season.
Michelle Weaver, Butler, So., G
Weaver averaged 21.0 points, 3.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals in a 1-1 week for the Bulldogs. She reached the 20-point mark in both contests, including a game-high 22 in Wednesday’s win over Fort Wayne and a game-best 20 at Wisconsin on Sunday.
