A 4-0 Monday for BIG EAST schools included Creighton and Georgetown notching impressive tournament victories.  The 4-0 night improved the conference’s overall record to 33-7 (.825).

Creighton won the Paradise Jam with an 86-77 win against Mississippi.  The Bluejays, ranked No. 12 in Monday’s AP poll, rallied from an 11-point deficit in the second half to win the tourney title.  Marcus Foster, who had a game-high 25 points, was named Tournament MVP.  Cole Huff was named to the All-Tournament Team.  Creighton became the sixth BIG EAST team to win the Paradise Jam in the 16-year history of the event.

Against No. 13/12 Oregon at the Maui Invitational, Georgetown built a 38-21 lead by halftime, lost the lead, then recovered to post a 65-61 victory.  Rodney Pryor led the way with 26 points and 10 rebounds.  L.J. Peak added 17 points and six rebounds.  The Hoyas meet No. 16/14 Wisconsin tonight in the second round.

Butler improved to 4-0 with a 91-55 victory over visiting Norfolk State.  The Bulldogs enjoyed a 21-3 run to end the first half and took a 50-24 lead into the locker room.  Reserve Nate Fowler recorded 17 points and seven rebounds in only 18 minutes.  Avery Woodson added 15 points.

Providence used a stingy defense to beat St. Francis, N.Y. 64-48 at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center.  The Friars held the Terriers to 30 percent shooting from the floor.  Rodney Bullock again led PC offensively with 21 points.  He also grabbed 12 rebounds.

In addition’s to the Georgetown-Wisconsin game tonight, Marquette hosts IUPUI at 7:30 p.m. on FS1 in the only other action involving BIG EAST teams.
