MBB Minute: -- Marquette Tops IUPUI, Georgetown Loses To Wisconsin

Marquette bounced back into the winning column on Tuesday with a comfortable 104-79 win over IUPUI.  The Golden Eagles scored 57 points in the first half and shot a season-high 57.1 percent from the field for the game, while ending a two-game losing streak. 

Haanif Cheatham scored a game-high 22 points and Katin Reinhardt added 16 points.  Marquette coach Steve Wojciechowski juggled his lineup and brought Luke Fischer, Jajuan Johnson and Katin Reinhardt off the bench.  All three scored in double figures with Reinhardt tallying 16 points.

Georgetown dropped a 73-57 decision to No. 16/14 Wisconsin in the semifinals of the Maui Invitational.  L.J. Peak scored a team-high 18 points for the Hoyas.  Rodney Pryor, who leads the team in scoring with an 18.6 average, added 14 points. 

Wednesday’s BIG EAST schedule includes four games – two on campuses and two in tournaments.  Villanova hosts College of Charleston in a game on FS1 at 7 p.m. ET.  DePaul meets Missouri State on FSN at 8 p.m.

Georgetown completes play in the Maui Invitational, meeting Oklahoma State in the third-place game at 7:30 on ESPN2.  St. John’s takes on No. 24/20 Michigan State in the first round of the Battle 4 Atlantis at 7 p.m.

BIG EAST teams enter Wednesday play with a 34-8 record (.810).
