NEW YORK – Seton Hall junior Cassie Pantelas has garnered BIG EAST Female Golfer of the Week honors in the final week of the fall golf season and Marquette freshman Ferdinand Muller has been selected BIG EAST Male Golfer of the Week.
 
BIG EAST Female Golfer of the Week
Cassie Pantelas, Seton Hall, Jr. – Pantelas tied for sixth place in a field of 77 golfers at the Seton Hall Pirate Invitational with a two-round score of 162, 18 over par.  She fired a five-over par 77 in the second round.  Her first-round score of 85 came in windy conditions that included gusts of up to 40 mph and temperatures in the 40s.  The weather improved significantly for the second round at the Trump National Golf Club with temperatures 20 degrees higher and much less wind.
 
BIG EAST Male Golfer of the Week
Ferdinand Muller, Marquette, Fr. – Muller turned in a career-low 207 and finished seven under par to tie for fifth place at the Price’s Give ‘Em Five Invitational in El Paso, Texas.  After posting a collegiate-low 69 (-3) in the second round of the 54-hole event, Muller moved up a spot on the leaderboard in the final round shooting a two-under-par 70 in a bogey-free final 13 holes.  Competing as an individual, he was one of eight players to go under par in each round (70-69-70).

BIG EAST Notes
The Marquette and Seton Hall men’s squads were the two BIG EAST teams competing in El Paso.  After Muller for Marquette, Oliver Farrell and Matt Bachmann were in a tie for 10th at 211 and Charlie Maleki was 13th at 212.  The Hall was led by Gen Nagai, who was tied for 17th at 215.  Lloyd Jefferson Go pulled in at 216 tied for 21st…Creighton was the lone BIG EAST women’s squad at the Seton Hall Invitational other than host Pirates.  The Bluejays finished eighth as a team led by Kelsey Petersen, who tied for ninth at 164 (83-81) with Seton Hall’s Elizabeth Win (90-74) and Sarah Eversman, who tied for 12th at 165 (85-80).
