Butler's Martin, Baldwin Take Weekly MBB Honors

NEW YORK – After helping lift the Butler to an 83-78 win over No. 9 Indiana, forward Kelan Martin and guard Kamar Baldwin have earned BIG EAST Player of the Week and BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors.

Martin led the Bulldogs to an 83-78 win over No. 9/9 Indiana in the Crossroads Classic in Indianapolis, Ind.  He poured in a game-high 28 points while shooting 9-of-16 from the floor, 5-of-9 from 3-point range and 5-of-5 from the foul line.  Martin scored the final nine points of the first half to give the Bulldogs a 42-28 edge at halftime.  For the season, he is averaging 18.6 points. 
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Kamar Baldwin, Butler, G, Fr.
Baldwin scored a collegiate-high 14 points and grabbed a team-high five rebounds in the 83-78 victory over ninth-ranked Indiana.  He shot 5-of-10 from the floor, including 2-of-4 from beyond the arc.  Baldwin has started the last two games and has scored in double figures in six contests.  He is averaging 8.8 points per game.

Averaged 29.0 ppg in a 1-1 week that included 31-points in a 109-61 win against Chicago State.   

L.J. Peak, Georgetown, G, Jr.
Posted 23 points, 11 rebounds and four assists in a 78-71 victory at Syracuse.  Made five FTs in the final 26 seconds to seal the win.

Angel Delgado, Seton Hall, F, Jr.
Averaged 17.5 points and 13.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week that included wins over South Carolina (67-64) and Delaware (81-68). 
  
Josh Hart, Villanova, G, Sr.
Had 26 points, three assists, three steals and did not commit a turnover in a 78-57 victory over Temple.   

Trevon Bluiett, Xavier, G, Jr.
Posted team highs of 20 points and seven rebounds in a 69-65 win against Wake Forest.
