NEW YORK – Providence forward Rodney Bullock has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week after leading the Friars to a pair of wins, including a 63-60 victory against nationally-ranked Rhode Island.  Creighton center Justin Patton has been selected BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for a second straight week.

Rodney Bullock, Providence, F, Jr.
Bullock averaged 26.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week that included a 63-60 win over No. 21/25 Rhode Island.  He started the week with a career-high 36 points in a 76-62 win against New Hampshire.  Bullock had 17 points and five rebounds against URI, including the go-ahead basket with 3:14 to play.  For the season, he leads the BIG EAST with a 21.4 scoring average.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Justin Patton, Creighton, C, Fr.
Patton earns rookie honors for a second consecutive week after averaging 16.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 2.0 blocked shots in a 2-0 week.  He also shot 82.4 percent from the floor.  In a 93-72 win over Buffalo, Patton had 21 points, 10 rebounds and two blocked shots.  For the season, he is averaging 12.8 points, 6.5 boards and shooting 78.9 percent from the field. 
 
BIG EAST Honor Roll
Kelan Martin, Butler, F, Jr.
In a 2-0 week that included a 68-59 win at Utah, averaged 24.0 points.  Had a career-high 30 points versus Central Arkansas.
 
Marcus Foster, Creighton, G, Jr.
Averaged 24.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in victories over Buffalo (93-72) and Akron (82-70).  Had 27 points versus Akron. 
 
Rodney Pryor, Georgetown, G, Gr.
Averaged 26.5 points and 4.5 boards in a 2-0 week.  Shot 63.0 percent from the floor and 61.5 percent from 3-point range.
 
Jajuan Johnson, Marquette, G, Sr.
Averaged 14.5 points, 6.0 boards, 3.5 assists and 3.5 steals in a 2-0 week that included 16 points and 10 rebounds in an 89-79 win at Georgia.
 
Kris Jenkins, Villanova, F, Sr.
Averaged 21.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in a pair of wins over Philadelphia Big Five foes Penn and Saint Joseph’s.  Was 10-of-19 from 3-point range.
