Marquette’s Natisha Hiedeman, Seton Hall’s Deja Winters garner weekly certificates.

BIG EAST Player of the Week
Natisha Hiedeman, Marquette, So., G
Hiedeman recorded just the second triple-double in Marquette history, totaling 12 points, 10 assists and 18 rebounds in Friday’s win over Western Illinois. It was the first MU triple-double since Nov. 21, 2009 when Angel Robinson met the minimum requirement with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in a win over Oakland. Hiedeman becomes just the eighth player in Division I to record a triple-double this season. Her 18 boards are the most by any BIG EAST player this year while she is the second league player to reach double-digit assists, joining DePaul’s Jessica January (13 assists vs. Syracuse, 11/27/16). The Golden Eagles improved to 6-1 on the year with the win.

In a 1-1 week for the Pirates, Winters averaged 12.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists. In Wednesday’s tilt at Princeton, Winters came off the bench to match her career high with 16 points, including a career-best four three-pointers. She added five rebounds and two blocks against the Tigers. In Sunday’s win over Wake Forest, the rookie guard earned the start and had eight points, four boards and two assists as the Pirates improved to 5-3 on the year. Seton Hall is the first team to earn back-to-back BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors by two different players since Feb. 14 and 21, 2011 (Bria Hartley and Stefanie Dolson, Connecticut).
