Georgetown 69, George Mason 56
Georgetown (7-2) returned home and continued its winning ways with a 69-56 victory over the George Mason University Patriots (5-5) on Thursday evening at McDonough Arena. It was GU's first home game since Nov. 11, and Georgetown's sixth victory in a row. Dorothy Adomako led the way for the Hoyas, tying her career high with 25 points and posting eight rebounds. Senior forward Faith Woodard managed her fourth double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 boards. Both Adomako and Woodard went 3-for-4 from beyond the arc. The Blue & Gray pulled down 43 rebounds to George Mason's 36, and shot 41.5 percent (27-of-65) from the field, while the Patriots shot 35.0 percent (21-for-60) from the field. Georgetown forced 16 turnovers on nine steals, but committed 17 turnovers in the contest.

Wake Forest 58, Xavier 45
Xavier dropped its first game of the 2016-17 season on Thursday night, falling at Wake Forest, 58-45, at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The Musketeers (6-1) trailed by as many as 16 in the first half before chipping away at the deficit. Xavier used a 13-4 run to open the second half and get within three (33-29), but the Demon Deacons (7-3) pulled away in the fourth quarter to escape with the victory. Raeshaun Gaffney led Xavier with 13 points on 6-for-15 shooting. Maddison Blackwell was the only other Xavier player in double figures with 11 points on 4-for-8 shooting.
