NEW YORK – The seventh episode of This Week In The BIG EAST Radio Show, distributed by Westwood One, launched on Feb. 12 with this week's guests: Marquette head coach Steve Wojciechowski, Creighton guard Maurice Watson, Jr. and long-time Associated Press national college writer Jim O’Connell.
The hosts for This Week In The BIG EAST are John Rooke, a well-known BIG EAST play-by-play voice for 27 years and Kevin McNamara, who has covered the BIG EAST for 25 seasons at the
Providence Journal and is a columnist for
Basketball Times. Rooke and McNamara give a comprehensive look at the teams, coaches, players and storied tradition of the top basketball conference in America in each episode.
The episode’s “Who’s Hot” segment features audio clips from some recent big performances around the league and a recap of the league’s weekly honors.
The BIG EAST Spotlight shines on Wojciechowski who reflects on Marquette’s most recent win against Providence and how his young team has matured through the season. The BIG EAST focus is on Watson who scored 32 points in a win over fifth-ranked Xavier. O’Connell, a long time national college basketball beat writer for the Associated Press, gives his thoughts on Villanova as the new national No. 1 and how the Wildcats compare to others who have held the top spot this year.
