The hosts for This Week In The BIG EAST are John Rooke, a well-known BIG EAST play-by-play voice for 27 years and Kevin McNamara, who has covered the BIG EAST for 25 seasons at the
Providence Journal and is a columnist for
Basketball Times. Rooke and McNamara give a comprehensive look at the teams, coaches, players and storied tradition of the top basketball conference in America in each episode.
The episode’s “Who’s Hot” segment features audio clips from some recent big performances around the league and a recap of the league’s weekly honors.
The BIG EAST Spotlight shines on Wright, skipper of the nation’s top ranked team for the second-straight week. Wright gives his comparison on the 2016 version of the Wildcats vs. the 2015 BIG EAST Champions and his take on the mix at the middle of the league’s standings. BIG EAST Sr. Associate Commissioner Jackson is in the lens of the BIG EAST focus as he gives his outlook on the upcoming postseason from the league’s perspective. Jackson highlights what fans can expect from the 2016 BIG EAST Tournament Week in New York City. Juliano, the college basketball beat writer from the Inquirer, gives his thoughts on where No. 1 Villanova stacks up to other great Villanova teams of the past. He gives his take on the bubble watch and what affect the log jam in the middle of the BIG EAST standings has on NCAA projections.
