NEW YORK  –  Denver maintains a clean record with a 14-12 win over then-No. 3 Duke in the Cobb County Classic, helped by the offensive efforts of BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week Tyler Pace. Villanova was just edged by then-No. 17 Harvard in overtime, but, BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week Luke Palmadesso did his best to give the Wildcats the possession advantage by winning 20-of-28 faceoffs.
 
The BIG EAST had a 2-4 weekend with Marquette gaining the other win 9-7 over Bellarmine.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Tyler Pace, Denver, Jr., Midfield
Pace had four points in a 14-12 win for the Pioneers over then-No. 3 Duke on Saturday at the Cobb County Classic in Georgia. Pace co-led then-No. 2 Denver in points and scored the game-winning goal against the Blue Devils with 5:13 to play in regulation. He also assisted on two other Denver fourth-quarter goals to help the Pioneers remain undefeated.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Luke Palmadesso, Villanova, So., FOGO
Palmadesso won 20-of-28 face-offs (.714) with 11 ground balls, a career and game high, against then-No. 17 Harvard on Saturday. Palmadesso won the opening faceoff in overtime, helping the Wildcats maintain possession for 2:33 minutes in the extra period before Harvard notched the golden goal for the 13-12 win. The sophomore’s 11 ground balls was a league high for the season
 
BIG EAST Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll
Trevor Baptiste, Denver, So., FOGO
Baptiste collected 10 ground balls and won 18-for-30 from the faceoff dot, including 7-for-11 in the fourth quarter.
 
Danny Bucaro, Georgetown, Fr., Attack
Recorded three points with two goals in a 12-7 loss to top-ranked Notre Dame at the Cobb County Classic.
 
Ryan McNamara, Marquette, Jr., Midfield
Tied a career-high with four goals in Marquette’s 9-7 victory over Bellarmine, who was receiving votes in the national polls.
 
Tate Boyce, Providence, Fr., Goalie
Registered a league-high 21 saves for the Friars in a loss against Bryant.
 
Eric DeJohn, St. John’s, RS-Sr., Attack
Tallied eight points on four goals and four assists in an 0-2 week for St. John’s.
