NEW YORK – The ninth episode of This Week In The BIG EAST Radio Show, distributed by Westwood One, launched on Feb. 25 with this week's guests: Butler head coach Chris Holtmann, Seton Hall sophomore guard Khadeen Carrington and Steve Lappas, color commentator and studio analyst for CBS Sports Network.
The hosts for This Week In The BIG EAST are John Rooke, a well-known BIG EAST play-by-play voice for 27 years and Kevin McNamara, who has covered the BIG EAST for 25 seasons at the
Providence Journal and is a columnist for
Basketball Times. Rooke and McNamara give a comprehensive look at the teams, coaches, players and storied tradition of the top basketball conference in America in each episode.
The episode’s “Who’s Hot” segment features audio clips from some recent big performances around the league and a recap of the league’s weekly honors.
With just less than two weeks left in the regular season, the BIG EAST Spotlight shines on Holtmann, who analyzes the Bulldogs from the inside out and their chances of a postseason run. Sophomore guard Carrington is in the lens of the BIG EAST focus as he reflects on his stellar second year with the Pirates. He gives fans insight into his Brooklyn roots and what it’s like to play basketball close to home. From the national perspective Lappas gives his thoughts on how many bids the BIG EAST could have come March 13. He weighs in on how the league’s top tier teams stack up against the elite squads in other conferences.
