Eck Earns Pitching Honors for Second Straight Week
NEW YORK, N.Y. – Creighton’s Sydnee Eck was named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week for the second straight week and St. John’s Krystal Puga got the nod for BIG EAST Player of the Week the conference announced Monday.

Krystal Puga was impressive throughout the week, hitting safely in each of the Red Storm’s six games. She went 10-for-20 with two home runs, 10 RBI and four runs. The sophomore registered three multi-hit games and had the go-ahead RBI hits versus Georgia Tech and Western Illinois. Against Western Illinois, Puga was 3-for-3, hitting two home runs and set a career-high in RBI with five runs batted in.

Sydnee Eck, Creighton, Jr.
Sydnee Eck was commanding in the pitchers' circle this weekend going the distance in each of her outings in the North Texas Invitational, tossing 15 total innings, striking out a combined 15 batters, and earning the win in both decisions. The junior fanned 11 batters and allowed just one earned run in Creighton's 2-1 victory versus Sam Houston State on Saturday.

Bennet batted .467 and had a .800 slugging percentage over the weekend, belting a home run, two doubles and five RBIs.
Kaitlin Doud, Butler, Fr., INF
Doud belted the first two home runs of her career in addition to a double and four RBIs in a 3-1 week for the Bulldogs.
Lauren Fischer, Seton Hall, Jr., UTIL/P
Fischer slammed two long balls to go along with two doubles, nine RBIs and a slugging percentage of 1.000.
Kristin Gutierrez, Butler, Sr., P
Gutierrez posted a 1.88 ERA across three games, going 1-1 with a save and eight strikeouts.
Grace Kramer, St. John’s, Jr., P
Kramer struck out 13 batters in 13 innings across five appearances in the circle, allowing just five runs for a 1.38 ERA.
Dana Morris, Villanova, So., INF
Morris brought in seven runs off nine hits, including three doubles, in a 3-1 week for the Wildcats.
