NEW YORK – The sixth episode of This Week In The BIG EAST Radio Show, distributed by Westwood One, launched on Feb. 5 with this week's guests: DePaul head coach Dave Leitao, Villanova guard Ryan Arcidiacono and FOX sports analyst Steve Lavin.
The hosts for This Week In The BIG EAST are John Rooke, a well-known BIG EAST play-by-play voice for 27 years and Kevin McNamara, who has covered the BIG EAST for 25 seasons at the
Providence Journal and is a columnist for
Basketball Times. Rooke and McNamara give a comprehensive look at the teams, coaches, players and storied tradition of the top basketball conference in America in each episode.
The episode’s “Who’s Hot” segment features audio clips from some recent big performances around the league and a recap of the league’s weekly honors.
The BIG EAST Spotlight shines on Leitao as he talks on DePaul’s big win over No. 11 Providence this week and his take on Chicago as a hot bed for recruiting. The lens of the BIG EAST focus is on Arcidiacono who gives his insight on his teammates and what fellow BIG EAST competitors he likes to go up against. From the national perspective former St. John’s coach Lavin reflects on his coaching experience in the BIG EAST and on his current role as FOX analyst. He closes with his thoughts on the tournament-worthy teams from the league.
