Maize, Warren Pick Up Weekly Softball Honors
NEW YORK – DePaul’s Morgan Maize went 3-1 for the week and posted a 0.84 ERA to earn the BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week Award. Savannah Warren batted .625 for St. John’s in the opening series of league play against Georgetown to take home BIG EAST Player of the Week honors.

Warren led the Red Storm with seven RBIs and a 1.125 slugging percentage across the three-game series. In the opener, the sophomore went 2-for-2, including her first career grand slam, tallying five RBIs and two runs scored. Warren walked three times last weekend and recorded a hit in each game for a .667 on-base percentage, as St. John’s came away with the road series win.
BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week
Morgan Maize, DePaul, Sr.
Maize did not allow a Villanova earned run over 12 innings in the circle across two games last weekend, showing great command. The senior blanked the Wildcats in the first game of the series, allowing four hits over seven innings in the 3-0 win. In non-conference action, Maize allowed three earned runs combined against Saint Louis and Eastern Illinois, splitting the two games. She finished the week 3-1 with 15 strikeouts over 25.0 innings for a 0.84 ERA.

Christenson batted .667 in a 4-1 week for the Blue Demons, scoring five runs and knocking in four.

Daro went 5-for-9 across two wins over the Friars, tallying six RBIs and a grand slam.
Samantha Giovanniello, Georgetown, Sr. INF/P
Giovanniello knocked in five runs in the Hoyas’ 6-4 win over St. John’s, belting a grand slam to go along with a sacrifice fly.
Kristin Gutierrez, Butler, Sr., P
Gutierrez was dominant in the series opener against the Seton Hall, striking out 14 while giving up three hits in the 5-1 win.

Lundstrom batted .600 against Creighton, including a 3-for-3, four-RBI outing in the second game of the series.
