NEW YORK – The 10th episode of This Week In The BIG EAST Radio Show, distributed by Westwood One, launched on March 3 with this week's guests: Seton Hall head coach Kevin Willard, Marquette freshman Henry Ellenson and CBS Sports Network analyst Jon Rothstein.
The hosts for This Week In The BIG EAST are John Rooke, a well-known BIG EAST play-by-play voice for 27 years and Kevin McNamara, who has covered the BIG EAST for 25 seasons at the
Providence Journal and is a columnist for
Basketball Times. Rooke and McNamara give a comprehensive look at the teams, coaches, players and storied tradition of the top basketball conference in America in each episode.
The episode’s “Who’s Hot” segment features audio clips from some recent big performances around the league and a recap of the league’s weekly honors.
The BIG EAST spotlight shines on Willard who reflects on the Pirates’ season turnaround and current play. The BIG EAST focus this week is on Ellenson, one of the nation’s most-talented freshman players and a seven-time BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honoree. Ellenson gives us insight into his family background and his thoughts on who the best players he’s faced have been. This week’s national perspective comes from Rothstein, as he gives listeners his thoughts on the BIG EAST’s best, NCAA hopefuls and where the conference teams fit into the national picture.
