NEW YORK – St. John’s Grace Kramer picked up BIG EAST Softball Pitcher of the Week honors while DePaul’s Nicole Pihl netted the BIG EAST Player of the Week award, the conference announced on Monday.

Nicole Pihl, DePaul, Jr., 1B
In the Blue Demons’ three-game sweep of Providence, Pihl was a force at the plate, batting .545 with a 1.364 slugging percentage. In the first game of the series, the junior went 3-for-5, belting two home runs and tallying six RBI. She would send another over the fence in Game 2 against the Friars. Pihl finished the weekend with eight RBI and three runs scored, keeping DePaul in first place in the league.
 
BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week
Grace Kramer, St. John’s, Jr.
Kramer was dominant in the circle for the Red Storm, going 2-1 in three appearances, posting a 1.87 earned run average with two complete games. She struck out 25 batters in 15.0 innings, holding opposing teams to a .180 batting average. In both her starts, Kramer struck out at least 11 batters, including a one hitter against Saint Peter’s where she tallied 12 strikeouts in 5.0 innings.

Boroff allowed just one earned run in seven innings of work against St. John’s, striking out six in the win.
Maggie MacBeth, Butler, RS Fr., INF
MacBeth went 3-for-4 in both of Butler’s BIG EAST contests at St. John’s over the weekend, registering six hits and a .750 average in the series.
Chase Snell, Villanova, Jr., INF
Snell batted .714 in the Wildcats’ three games and went 5-for-6 in the two games against Seton Hall, scoring four times and knocking in two runs.
Michelle Trulin, Creighton, Sr., OF
Trulin batted .667 in the Bluejays’ series against Georgetown, tallying five RBI and five runs scored.
Micaela Whitney, Creighton, Sr., P
Whitney went 2-0 with a pair of complete games last week, posting a 2.33 ERA with 14 strikeouts.
