Three teams battling for two remaining spots in BIG EAST Championship field.

Temple 10, Villanova 7                 
The Owls eliminated Villanova from postseason contention while keeping themselves in the picture with a 10-7 win. Brenda McDermott scored three goals and recorded two assists to lead Temple lacrosse to a league win. It was a crucial win for the Owls, who improve to 10-5 overall and 2-3 in the BIG EAST to keep their conference tournament hopes alive. Temple took a 5-1 lead into halftime after three McDermott first-half goals, and the Owls scored three more early in the second half for an 8-2 lead. They surrendered five goals to Villanova down the stretch, but kept at least a two-goal lead throughout.

Marquette 11, Vanderbilt 7  
Marquette erased another second-half deficit en route to an 11-7 win over Vanderbilt at Valley Fields on Wednesday. The win was MU’s sixth of the season, setting a new program record. Vanderbilt had the momentum with three straight goals and a 7-6 lead midway through the second half, but the Golden Eagles answered back with five unanswered tallies over the final 8:25 to close out the win. With the setback, the Commodores are eliminated from BIG EAST Championship contention while Marquette is on the cusp of qualifying for the first time, in need of just one more win.

Connecticut 9, Georgetown 8
Grace Nolan landed the game-winning goal for the Huskies with just 17 seconds left on the clock to help preserve UConn’s perfect, 6-0, BIG EAST record. The Huskies will travel to fellow unbeaten Florida on Sunday to decide the BIG EAST regular-season champion and No. 1 seed in the upcoming BIG EAST Championship. Trailing 7-5 midway through the second half, Georgetown scored three straight goals to pull ahead 8-7 with 6:04 remaining. UConn would answer three minutes later to even the score before Nolan’s game winner in the final minute.

Florida 17, Cincinnati 5
Sammi Burgess led Florida with a hat trick and reigning National Rookie of the Week Lindsey Ronbeck put up a team-high six points as the No. 2 Gators capped off regular-season road action with a 17-5 win at Cincinnati. Five players had multiple-goal outings as UF put up its second-best offensive output of the season with 17 goals. Florida improved to 15-1 on the season and an undefeated 6-0 in BIG EAST play. The Orange and Blue will wrap up the regular-season slate Sunday against UConn at noon. With the Huskies' win Wednesday against Georgetown, the BIG EAST regular-season champion will be determined Sunday in Gainesville.
