#25 Northwestern 2, DePaul 1
For 74 minutes on Thursday, DePaul had a 1-0 lead against the No. 25 women’s soccer team in the country. But a late surge by Northwestern with goals in the 78th and 86th minutes resulted in a 2-1 Blue Demon loss at Wish Field. DePaul didn’t waste any time asserting itself in this rivalry match. Kelli Hubly took a pass from freshman Avery Hay and deposited a shot into the lower left of the Wildcat net.

Georgetown 4, Delaware 0
Georgetown senior forward Grace Damaska recorded her second-career hat trick and the fourth multi-goal game of her career as the Hoyas scored three times in the second half to beat Delaware, 4-0, on Thursday afternoon at Shaw Field. The Hoyas improved to 2-1-0 with the win, while the Blue Hens fall to 0-3-0. The game would go into the half still with Georgetown still leading 1-0 despite an 11-3 advantage in shots, but that lead would expand.

Northeastern 2, Providence 1 (2OT)
Providence suffered a heartbreaking, 2-1, double-overtime loss to Northeastern on Thursday in Brookline, Mass. The Huskies tallied the game-winning goal with eight seconds remaining in the second overtime, as Hannah Rosenblatt converted an attempt from 18-yards out, tucking the ball inside the right post. Graduate student Kathryn Hiller gave the Friars an early lead just 19:24 into the match. It marked her second goal of the season and came off of a header during a corner kick. Sophomore Kayla Steeves was credited with the assist. PC maintained its lead into halftime and during the vast majority of the second half until Northeastern’s Taylor Caparo redirected a cross from Hannah Lopiccolo into the back of the net in the 82nd minute of play. Caparo’s goal tied the game, 1-1, and would eventually force extra time.

Marquette 2, Illinois 1
Marquette picked up its first victory of the 2016 campaign on Thursday with a 2-1 decision over Illinois State at Adelaide Street Field. Freshman Emily Hess scored her first collegiate goal to give the Golden Eagles an early lead in the first half and Darian Powell was able to notch the match winner in the 78th minute off a Cali Pyzdrowski corner kick. The Redbirds outshot MU, 11-6, but it was Marquette whose 5-0 second half edge in corner kicks secured the victory.
