BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Julian Gressel, Providence, Sr., M (Neustadt an der Aisch)

The senior midfielder tallied both goals in two narrow losses for the Friars. In Friday’s opener against local-rival Rhode Island, Gressel scored the equalizer in the 29th minute. The contest was eventually lost for Providence in the second overtime with less than two minutes to play. At No. 3/6 Clemson on Sunday, Gressel took a shot from midfield which found the top of the net in the 80th minute to make the score 2-1, but the Friars could not find the equalizing goal to send this one to extra minutes.
 
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Lucas Stauffer, Creighton, Jr., D (Owensboro, Ky.)
Stauffer helped lead the No. 7/9 Creighton defense that held No. 25 Rutgers to only four shot attempts, two on goal, in the season-opening win for the Bluejays on Friday night. Stauffer also converted the game-winning penalty kick in the 59th minute, his fourth career game-winner.
 
BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Eric Dick, Butler, R-Jr., GK (Carmel, Ind.)
The redshirt junior had 10 saves as the Bulldogs fought to a 0-0 draw with host Louisville on Friday night in Kentucky. The Cardinals had 23 shots overall and 11 corner kicks, but Eric Dick was able to turn away all 10 shots on goal to post the shutout against one of the ACC’s top teams.  Dick had seven saves in the opening half.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Isaac Galliford, Butler, Fr., M (Luton, England)
Galliford had a team-high four shots as the Bulldogs and host Louisville played to a scoreless draw on Friday night.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Riggs Lennon, Creighton, Sr., F (Paradise Valley, Ariz.)
Lennon scored the insurance goal in a 2-0 Creighton victory at No. 25 Rutgers on Friday night. He had three shots on goal.
 
Erik Rodriguez, DePaul, Sr., F (Elgin, Ill.)
Scored the goal that led DePaul to a 1-1 tie at Oregon State. He finished with five shots, two on goal in a 0-1-1 opening weekend for the Blue Demons.
 
Andres Arcila, Seton Hall, So., M (Cartagena, Columbia)
Arcila scored twice in Seton Hall’s season-opening 3-1 victory on Friday at Saint Peter’s. After tallying the first goal in the 15th minute, the sophomore midfielder tacked on an insurance goal with a penalty kick in the 59th minute.  In a 2-0 loss at Stony Brook, he could not duplicate the effort but played the full 90 minutes and fired off one shot on goal.
Lucas Hodges, Villanova, Jr., M (Palos Verde, Calif.)
Hodges scored the goal on a penalty kick in Friday’s 2-1 overtime loss to Rider for Villanova.
 
Jalen Brown, Xavier, Sr., F (Indianapolis, Ind.)
Had three points in Xavier’s season-opening 3-1 win against Evansville on Friday. His penalty kick goal was the equalizer for the Musketeers. He also assisted Derrick Otim’s eventual game-winner.
