BIG EAST Notes - 8.30
On The Rise

St. John’s remains the lone BIG EAST women’s soccer squad to sport a blemish-free record, showing a 2-0-2 mark following a pair of draws this past weekend. The Red Storm will look to tack on two more wins when they face Yale and Fairfield this weekend. Georgetown has been lighting up the scoreboard, totaling 14 goals over four games for the ninth-best scoring average in Division I. The Hoyas (3-1) scored eight total goals in back-to-back wins this past weekend, and will have their toughest road test so far this year when they travel to No. 12/7 Rutgers on Friday night. Marquette won its last two tilts by matching 2-1 margins, including Sunday’s topping of previously undefeated Michigan at Valley Fields. The Golden Eagles will be tested against a pair of highly ranked foes this weekend when they travel to No. 22/25 Santa Clara and No. 2/1 Stanford. Seton Hall claimed its first set of back-to-back wins since stringing three together during the 2013 campaign. Coming off Monday’s win over Quinnipiac, the Pirates will host Fordham and Monmouth on Thursday and Sunday, respectively.
