UConn’s Amanda Collins recognized as offensive player for a second-consecutive week

NEW YORK - Connecticut and Old Dominion went unbeaten in busy weekend of BIG EAST field hockey action.
 
BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Amanda Collins, UConn, So., F
Fourth-ranked University of Connecticut went undefeated this past weekend with wins over Massachusetts and Harvard. Collins helped the Huskies lift past the Minutewomen, 2-1, by assisting on UConn’s first goal of the game. In the Huskies’ 4-0 win over the Crimson, the forward scored two goals, for her second multi-goal game this season.
 
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Kealsie Robles, ODU, So., GK
The goalkeeper played all 140 minutes of No. 15 Old Dominion’s 2-0 weekend mark, making nine total saves and posting a .818 save percentage. In ODU’s first game of the weekend, Robles made six saves helping the Monarchs to a 3-1 win over Richmond. On Sunday, the goalkeeper secured three saves in ODU’s 2-1 win over William & Mary.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Erin Huffman, ODU, Fr., F
The ODU forward posted her third goal of the season off a penalty stroke to give the No. 15 Monarchs, a 1-0 lead against William & Mary just minutes before the half. Following Huffman’s momentum, ODU defeated the Tribe, 2-1, pushing to a four-game winning streak. The goal was Huffman’s third this season.
 
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Adriene Houle, Providence, Sr., M
Houle’s week was highlighted by providing the game-winning goal and an insurance goal in the Friars’ 3-1 victory over Rider on Sunday.
Svea Boker, UConn, Fr., F
Boker recorded an assist in a 4-0 triumph over Harvard.
Anna Middendorf, UConn, Sr., D
In a 2-0 week for the No.4 Huskies, Middendorf scored on a penalty corner against UMass and recorded an assist against Harvard. Defensively, the senior helped UConn record its first shutout of the season with a 4-0 win over the Crimson.
Casey Dolan, ODU, Sr., F
Dolan recorded her second game-winning goal of the season in No. 15 ODU’s 2-1 victory over William & Mary on Sunday, helping the Monarchs achieve their fourth-straight win.
Erika Miller, Villanova, So., GK
The Wildcat goalkeeper posted a career high 13 saves in Villanova’s 3-0 loss against No.6 Michigan. The rookie’s double-digit performance is the most saves against the Wolverines this year.
