BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Charlotte Veitner, UConn, Jr., F
Tallying 14 points on six goals and two assists this past weekend, Veitner guided fifth-ranked Connecticut past No. 13 Old Dominion and No. 14 Virginia. In UConn’s 2-1 win over the Monarchs, the junior registered two assists and two shots. Veitner followed up with a career-high six goals in the Huskies’ 8-0 shutout against the Cavaliers. Her six-goal performance currently leads the nation in most individual goals in a single game. Vietner also paces the BIG EAST with 22 points, eight goals and is tied with six assists.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Anna Middendorf, UConn, Sr., M
The midfielder proved effective on both ends of the field as she helped the Huskies extend to a seven-game winning streak. In UConn’s 2-1 victory over ODU, Middendorf posted two goals. Against Virginia, the senior paced UConn to its second shutout of the season. She also added an assist in the 8-0 win.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Maddie Lilliock, Temple, Fr., GK
The rookie tied her season-high 11 saves in a close, 3-2, loss to Providence. She added eight more saves against Monmouth. She leads the BIG EAST with 71 saves this season.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Megan Hamilton, Providence, Jr., M
Hamilton made two defensive saves for the Friars against Temple, including one in the 80
th minute, to push the game into overtime, leading to Providence, 3-2 victory. She also scored the Friars’ second goal against the Owls.
Adrienne Houle, Providence, Sr., M
Houle netted the game-winning goal in the 81
st minute of action to defeat Temple in overtime.
Bethany Barr, Liberty, Sr., M
Barr paced Liberty’s offense with two goals in the Flames’ inaugural BIG EAST matchup against Villanova. She also tallied assists against No. 14 Virginia and the Wildcats.
Serena Barr, Liberty, Sr., D
The defender limited No.14 Virginia and Villanova to a combined three goals, while tallying two goals, two assists and 11 shots this weekend.
Francesca Bello, Villanova, Jr., F
The forward recorded 12 points on four goals and four assists for the Wildcats this past weekend, including three goals in Villanova’s 5-3 victory over Ohio.
