Morgan Proffitt's header in the 64th minute equalized Thursday's match and Marquette played No. 22 Santa Clara to a 1-1 draw at Stevens Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The Golden Eagles out-shot the Broncos 3-1 during the 20 extra minutes following regulation but could not break through as the game reached its final stages. Ashley Handwork had a couple of great chances in the first overtime period, including a sliding shot from the PK area that she pushed just left in the 97th minute. The two sides played an even match with each registering 10 shots with MU holding a slim 6-5 edge in shots on frame.

Providence 2, Boston University 0
Providence defeated Boston University, 2-0, for its second-consecutive shutout victory of the season to improve to 2-2-1 overall. It marks the Friars' second win all-time versus BU and snaps a five-game losing streak at the hands of the Terriers. At halftime, the two teams went to their locker rooms in a scoreless draw. The Friars took a 1-0 lead in the 65th minute as Juliana Pellegrini redirected a feed from Casey Estey from five yards out at the left post. It marked Pellegrini's first career goal with the Friars. For Estey, it marked her fourth career assist, and her second of the season. Pellegrini and Estey teamed up again in the 78th minute to extend the Friars' lead to two goals (2-0). This time Estey slipped a pass inside the 18-yard box for Pellegrini to finish off for her second goal of the game -- and career.

Seton Hall had a two-game winning streak snapped with a 2-0 setback to Fordham on Thursday night at Owen T. Carroll Field. The contest marked the second of a three-game homestand, with the Pirates back in South Orange on Sunday night. The Rams scored goals in each half, tallying late in the first and early in the second to build their two-goal advantage. In a tightly contested defensive struggle throughout, the two squads combined for only 10 shots over 90 minutes.
