Connecticut junior forward Charlotte Veitner leads Huskies to a 2-0 weekend.

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week

Veitner led the league in points for a second straigt week with nine off four goals and one assist in a 2-0 week for the No. 3 Huskies. In conference play, the forward’s offensive performance was highlighted by a hat trick in UConn’s 6-0 shutout against Temple. Veitner was also credited with a goal and assist in the Huskies’ 5-1 nonconference victory over No. 9 Boston U. Her nine-point weekend ties her for second on UConn’s all-time points list with 178 career points.
 
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Casey Umstead, UConn, Jr., D
Umstead anchored the UConn defense, which only allowed one goal last week, beginning Friday with a 6-0 victory over Temple and capping Sunday with a 5-1 win against No. 9 Boston U. The Huskies limited their opponents to just seven shots on goal last week, winning the total shots advantage, 39-12. The junior helped out on offense as well, posting one goal against the Temple and a pair of goals against Boston U.
 
 BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Floor Rozemeijer, Providence, Fr., D
Rozemeijer played a key role in holding each of Providence’s two opponents to just one goal apiece. In consecutive wins over Villanova and UMass-Lowell, the Friars limited to their opponents to six shots on goal each, and holding a total shots advantage of 27-16. Rozemeijer also contributed on the Friars' offensive attack with her first career assist against the Wildcats on Friday and her second career goal against UMass Lowell on Sunday.  It also marked the first time in her collegiate career that she has tallied points in back-to-back games.
 
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Svea Boker, UConn, Fr., F
Registered a goal and an assist against Temple, while posting one goal against No. 9 Boston U.
Danielle Grega, ODU, Jr., F
Grega, the team’s leading-scorer, scored two goals to help ODU win its first BIG EAST game of the season, as the Monarchs blanked Georgetown, 5-0.
Meg Byas, ODU, Sr., D
The defender helped the Monarchs earn their first shutout victory of the season, a 5-0 shutout of Georgetown, while also adding her second goal of the season.
Adrienne Houle, Providence, Sr., M
Houle led the Friars' offense in a 2-0 week with five points on three goals.  She began the week with two goals, including the game winner, in a 3-1 victory over Villanova and followed with one goal against UMass Lowell.
Summer Parker, Liberty, Jr., F
Helped the Flames to a 2-0 weekend with two assists in a 6-1 win over Quinnipiac and a game-winning goal early in the second half in Liberty’s 3-2 win over William & Mary.
