Jade Walker, Raeshaun Gaffney reach 1,000 career points while DePaul stretches win streak to 10.

Marquette 91, Butler 53
Marquette (15-4, 6-2 BIG EAST) recorded a 91-53 victory against Butler (5-13, 2-5) on Sunday afternoon by shooting 56 percent from the field. The red hot Golden Eagle offense made 12 3-point field goals and came up with an assist on 25 of their 32 made field goals. Marquette had four players end the game in double figures as Allazia Blockton paced the group with 20 and McKayla Yentz chipped in with 15. Butler faced an early 12-2 run by the Golden Eagles and suffered a 15-point deficit after the first period. Marquette maintained its offensive consistency in the second quarter and extended its lead to 44-25 at halftime. The Golden Eagles continued to play well on both ends of the floor entering the second half. Overall, Butler was held 30 percent shooting from the field including 25 percent from 3-point range. The Bulldogs were led in scoring by Sydney Buck, who tallied nine points.

Georgetown 77, Seton Hall 58
Georgetown (10-7, 2-4 BIG EAST) used huge second and third quarter efforts to down Seton Hall (8-10, 1-6), 77-58, on Sunday at McDonough Arena. The Pirates led by two after a quarter but it was all Georgetown in the second and third frames, as GU outscored The Hall 50-17 in the middle periods. GU scored 17 of the first 20 points in the third frame to bump an 11-point halftime lead to a 54-29 advantage at 6:19 of the third. Four Hoyas scored in double figures as Mykia Jones led the way with a career-high 20 points, going 5-of-7 from beyond the arc. Faith Woodard added 19 points and eight rebounds. JaQuan Jackson led the Pirates with 19 points in the setback, while Martha Kuderer joined her in double-figures with 10 points off the bench.

Villanova 55, St. John’s 50
With the game tied at 40 entering the fourth quarter, Villanova (8-9, 4-3 BIG EAST) outscored St. John’s 15-10 over the final 10 minutes to defeat the Red Storm, 55-50, at The Pavilion on Sunday. In the win, Alex Louin guided the Wildcats with 19 points to go with four rebounds and four assists, while Mary Gedaka turned in the best game of her young career with a career-high 16 points and a career-best eight rebounds.  St. John’s (12-6, 4-3 BIG EAST) was paced by Akina Wellere, with a team-high 16 points on 5-of-12 shooting in the loss. Jade Walker finished with 13 points as she became the 23rd player in program history to score 1,000 points.

No. 21/20 DePaul 85, Xavier 69
No. 21/20 DePaul (16-4, 8-0 BIG EAST) established the program’s longest winning streak since the 2010-11 season with an 85-69 victory over Xavier. The win gave the Blue Demons 10 in a row, including a program-best 8-0 start in the BIG EAST. Brooke Schulte led the way for DePaul with 28 points and a season-high 11 rebounds for her second double-double of the year. On Xavier’s side, Raeshaun Gaffney managed the Musketeers with 22 points, including her 1,000th career point. Xavier (10-8, 2-5) closed out the first quarter on a 6-0 run to draw within 21-20 after the first 10 minutes. Behind Schulte, whose 10 points ignited a 20-2 run midway through the second quarter, DePaul took a 48-30 lead at the half. Xavier got within 12, 56-44, at the 4:17 mark in the third on a Marquia Turner jumper, but the Blue Demons responded with six unanswered points to maintain their double-figure advantage and ultimately the victory.
