NEW YORK – The fourth episode of This Week In The BIG EAST Radio Show, distributed by Westwood One, launched on Jan. 20 with this week's guests: St. John’s head coach Chris Mullin, Butler senior forward Andrew Chrabascz and college basketball writer for Blue Star Media Dick Weiss.
The 2016-17 season of This Week In The BIG EAST is available for download on iTunes, Google Play and Stitcher in addition to its Westwood One Distribution. This week’s episode will also air on Sirius Radio on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. on Sirius 108/XM 201/App Channel 961.
The hosts for This Week In The BIG EAST (#TWITBE) are John Rooke, a well-known BIG EAST play-by-play voice for 29 years and Kevin McNamara, who has covered the BIG EAST for 27 seasons at the
Providence Journal and is a columnist for
Basketball Times. Rooke and McNamara give a comprehensive look at the teams, coaches, players and storied tradition of the top basketball conference in America in each episode.
The episode’s “Who’s Hot” segment features audio clips from some recent big performances around the league and a recap of the league’s weekly honors.
The BIG EAST Spotlight shines on Mullin as Rooke and McNamara check in on the status St. John’s and the performance of the Red Storm’s outstanding freshman guards Shamorie Ponds and Marcus LoVett.
The BIG EAST focus is on Chrabascz who discusses Butler’s start in conference play. Chrabascz averages 11.9 points per game and 4.9 rebounds per game for the Bulldogs. Weiss brings the national perspective to this week’s show as he discusses the history of the BIG EAST and recalls his favorite Madison Square Garden moments from the BIG EAST Tournament, which is celebrating its 35th year at MSG this March.
