Villanova's Hart, Butler's Baldwin Earn Weekly MBB Honors

NEW YORK – Villanova guard Josh Hart has earned BIG EAST Player of the Week honors and Butler guard Kamar Baldwin has been tabbed BIG EAST Freshman of the Week.  Both players led their teams to 2-0 weeks.  Hart has earned Player of the Week three times this season and Baldwin has been named Freshman of the Week twice.

BIG EAST Player of the Week
Josh Hart, Villanova, G, Sr.
Hart led Villanova to a 2-0 week by averaging 18.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and shooting 57.7 percent from the floor.  In a 78-68 win over Providence, Hart posted a game-high 25 points, six rebounds and four assists.  For the season, Hart leads the BIG EAST in scoring with a 19.2 average.  He also ranks fifth in rebounding (6.5), eighth in assists (3.6), eighth in steals (1.5) and fourth in assist/turnover ratio (2.2).
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Kamar Baldwin, Butler, G, Fr.
Baldwin scored 18 points in a pair of Butler victories.  In Saturday’s 70-69 overtime win at DePaul, he had five points in the final 24 seconds, including two free throws with three seconds left, to carry the Bulldogs to victory.  Earlier in the week, his 18 points helped lift Butler to an 88-80 win over Marquette.  For the two games, Baldwin shot 56 percent from the field.   
 
BIG EAST Honor Roll
Kethan Savage, Butler, G, Sr.
Averaged 18.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and shot 58 percent from the field in a 2-0 week.  Had a season-high 20 points in an overtime time win at DePaul.

Marcus Foster, Creighton, G, Jr.
In a 1-1 week, was the team’s high scorer in both games, averaging 22.5 points.  Had a season-high 30 points in a loss to Marquette.   
  
Markus Howard, Marquette, G, Fr.
Averaged 18.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and shot 53.8 percent from the floor in a 1-1 week on the road against top-15 opponents.

Angel Delgado, Seton Hall, F, Jr.
Had the first 20/20 game in league play since 2010 with 21 points and 20 rebounds in an 86-73 win against St. John’s.  Averaged 14.5 points and 13.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week.

Trevon Bluiett, Xavier, G, Jr.
Averaged 20.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week.  Had a game-high 24 points in an 86-75 win against Georgetown.
