Villanova 64, Providence 59
Villanova (6-8, 2-2 BIG EAST) scored a 64-59 at Providence (9-7, 1-4) Sunday on FS1. Providence guard Yoyo Nogic scored the first four points of the third quarter to break-up a 28-28 halftime tie and give the Friars a 32-28 lead. Villanova Adrianna Hahn then scored seven straight Wildcat points, including a three-ball and two lay-ups. The Hahn breakaway lay-up at the 6:16 mark gave the Wildcats a 35-32 advantage. The Wildcats extended to a 10-point advantage midway through the fourth quarter (53-43). Maddie Jolin helped Providence cut the deficit to 55-49 with six-straight points from the free-throw line during a 6-2 run with 54 seconds remaining. Villanova closed out the game 5-of-8 from the free throw line, which allowed Providence to get within four (63-59), but could not recover before time expired. Jolin finished the game with a career-high 22 points on 7-10 shooting from the field and a 6-6 performance from the charity stripe while Villanova’s Hahn tallied a game-high 25 points in the victory for the Wildcats. The win was the Wildcats’ second straight.

Creighton 70, Georgetown 68 OT
Lauren Works not only forced overtime with trey in the closing seconds, she sealed the win with another trifecta in the final minute of the extra frame in Creighton’s 70-68 victory over Georgetown on Sunday. The win pushed the Bluejays to 10-5 on the season and 4-1 in BIG EAST play, while Georgetown fell to 8-6 overall and 0-4 in conference action. Audrey Faber, who drew a foul and hit two from the charity stripe to make it 58-55 with 2:20 left. Down 55-59 entering the final minute, the Bluejays watched as the Hoyas missed five of six free throws to set the stage for Works' dramatics. With 21 seconds left in regulation
Myah Mellman made it a one possession game with 1-of-2 from the line.
Sydney Lamberty put the final Creighton play in motion, driving the lane from the right side to tie the score at 59.The additional five minutes saw the Bluejays score the first four points and push out to a 65-60 lead with 2:57 left. Georgetown responded with eight of the next 10 points to hold a 68-67 advantage with 19 seconds remaining. The Bluejays returned to the tandem that forced overtime as Lamberty drove the lane, then found Works open on the left wing for the game winner. The Hoyas were without leading scorer Dionna White (illness) as DiDi Burton led the way with 19 points. Faber scored a game-high 22 while Brianna Rollerson notched a double-double of 17 points, 13 boards.

No. 23/21 DePaul 96, Seton Hall 65
Despite being hampered by injuries, No. 23/21 DePaul won its seventh in a row on Sunday, 96-65 over Seton Hall behind a break-out game by Tanita Allen with a career-high 30 points. It kept the Blue Demons atop the BIG EAST standings with a 5-0 record. Jacqui Grant also set a career high with 23 points while adding 10 rebounds. DePaul (13-4) came out hot, hitting 12-of-20 shots in the first quarter including 7-of-12 from three-point range. Grant was 4-for-4 from distance as the visiting team led 33-18 after the first 10 minutes. The marksmanship continued into the second quarter with DePaul pulling out to a halftime 60-35 advantage. DePaul led 80-47 after three quarters and Allen had 25 points in the first 22 minutes of playing time.
JaQuan Jackson led the Pirates with 14 points, while
LaTecia Smith added 13 off the bench in the setback. Seton Hall is now 8-7, 1-3 in BIG EAST.

St. John’s 70, Marquette 64
Behind the senior duo of Jade Walker and Aaliyah Lewis, St. John’s came away with its third-straight BIG EAST win on Sunday as the Red Storm (11-4, 3-1 BIG EAST) defeated Marquette (12-4, 3-2 BIG EAST), 70-64, at Carnesecca Arena. Walker went off for a career-best 32 points on 15-of-22 shooting. Walker also brought down nine boards and added one assist and one block. Lewis continued her breakout season, scoring 21 points, one shy of her career-high. The senior also dished out 10 assists, her second 10-plus assist game of the season. The Red Storm opened the game with an 8-0 lead as the Golden Eagles did not score until Allazia Blockton connected on a shot at the 7:35 mark in the first quarter. St. John's led throughout the first half, but Danielle King was fouled on a three-point shot with 0.2 second left in the half and converted the free throw to cut the Red Storm deficit to 40-31 at the break. A five minute scoring drought for Marquette in the third quarter including 11 consecutive missed field goals, helping St. John’s to a 52-45 to close out the quarter. From there, each time Marquette attempted to get within striking distance, St. John’s had an answer, maintaining its double-digit lead for the majority of the period to close out its third-straight BIG EAST win. Blockton finished with 20points and eight boards, both team highs.

Butler 65, Xavier 62 OT
Butler dealt Xavier a 65-62 overtime loss on Sunday afternoon at Cintas Center. The Musketeers moved to 10-6 and 2-3 in BIG EAST play, while the Bulldogs improved to 5-11 (2-3 BIG EAST). Butler’s first road win of the season was highlighted by
Tori Schickel who ended the game with 20 points and 20 rebounds.
Michelle Weaver helped spark the BU comeback by scoring 15 points and fellow sophomore
Alexa Bailey scored a career-high 10 points on 5-of-9 shooting. Xavier led most of the game, until the fourth quarter when Butler outscored the Musketeers, 18-8, to force an overtime period. The Bulldogs came out of halftime on a mission by going on a 10-2 run to get back in the game. The opening minutes of the fourth quarter featured more of the same results with BU going on a 12-2 scoring run. In the final minute of regulation, Xavier held onto a slim two-point lead, but Butler forced a Xavier turnover with a shot clock violation. With 30 seconds left in the game, the ball went to Weaver who drove through the lane and finished in the paint to knot the score at 60-60. Neither team made a basket in overtime as Xavier was 0-for-8 and Butler was 0-for-2. The Bulldogs went 5-for-8 from the foul line to seal the win, while Xavier went 2-for-4 from the charity stripe. Raeshaun Gaffney led the Musketeers with 16 points.
