NEW YORK  – There was one BIG EAST men’s soccer match under the Friday night lights  - No. 9 Georgetown at Villanova, playing at Talen Energy Stadium, home of the Philadelphia Union. The Hoyas advanced to 4-1 in the conference with a 2-0 win over the Wildcats. Villanova falls to 2-3 in league play.
 
Fútbol Saturday kicks off with Seton Hall visiting Providence at 4 p.m. on BEDN. Marquette visits third-place St. John’s at Belson Stadium in 5:30 p.m. match on ESPN3. Then in the night cap, BEDN airs a doubleheader as DePaul travels to Indianapolis to visit the Sellick Bowl and second-place, No. 20 Butler at 7 p.m. At 8 p.m. ET, Xavier takes on Creighton at Morrison Stadium.

Georgetown got on the board in the 31st minute with a goal from Kyle Zajec, assisted by reigning Freshman of the Week Derek Dodson and Ethan Lochner. The Hoyas led 1-0 into the second half. Shots at halftime were 7-6 in favor of Georgetown. The Hoyas made it 2-0 with an insurance goal by Zach Knudson in the 79th minute. Declan McCabe, reigning Offensive Player of the Week assisted. Hoya keeper JT Marcinkowski had five saves in the contest. Villanova keeper Will Steiner had four.
