NEW YORK  –  No. 14 Creighton and Marquette are undefeated at the top of the BIG EAST volleyball standings with 4-0 and 5-0 records, respectively. Marquette has lost just one set in the past six matches. The Bluejays did not drop a set this weekend as Creighton’s league match winning streak has extended to 28 matches. Seton Hall head coach Allison Yaeger earned her 100th career coaching victory with a sweep of Providence on Saturday. Yaeger is in her sixth year with the Pirates.
 
Tied at 2-2 are Providence, Villanova and Seton Hall, while travel partners Butler and Xavier are tied at 2-3. St. John’s and Georgetown are tied at 1-3, while DePaul is 1-4.
 
Villanova 3, Butler 0 (25-13,25-23,25-19)
Villanova’s Allie Loitz finished with 18 kills on a .455 hitting percentage as Villanova defeated Butler 3-0 (25-13, 25-23, 25-19) on Saturday afternoon. Villanova advanced to 9-6 on the season. Butler fell to 12-5.  Freshman Mallory Potts had 10 kills on .409 hitting in the match. Butler’s Anna Logan led for the Bulldogs with nine kills. Bri Lilly had eight kills. Both Villanova and Butler will play St. John’s as their next opponent.

Seton Hall 3, Providence 0 (25-22,25-23,25-14)
With the straight set victory, the Pirates earned head coach Allison Yaeger her 100th career coaching win. Seton Hall senior Dominique Mason and sophomore Maggie Cvelbar had double-doubles in the victory. Mason had 12 kills and 12 digs. Cvelbar had 13 assists, 11 digs. Abby Thelan added 10 kills for Seton Hall. For Providence, Addison Root had 11 kills. Fellow Friar Allison Barber had 21 assist.

Xavier 3, Georgetown 1 (25-23,25-19,25-27,28-26)   
Xavier’s Morgan Finn and Lauren Frilling both posted career-high performances on Saturday night, leading the Xavier volleyball team to a four-set win (25-23, 25-19, 25-27, 28-26) at Georgetown. Finn posted a career-high 18 kills, while Frilling matched her career high in blocks with nine. Xavier improved to 7-11 (2-3 BIG EAST) on the year, while the Hoyas dropped to 7-9 (1-3 BIG EAST). The Musketeers moved to 10-0 all-time against Georgetown.  Hoya Symone speech had 23 kills to lead all players. Speech hit .308 for the match. Georgetown’s Kenzi Higareda had 25 digs. Xavier’s Merdith Klare had a match-high 29.

Marquette 3, DePaul 0 (25-19,25-9,30-28)
Marquette continued its winning ways on Saturday as the squad topped DePaul, 3-0 (25-19, 25-9, 30-28), winning its sixth straight match, having dropped just one set in that stretch of play. The Golden Eagles (11-5, 5-0) were led by sophomore Allie Barber with 20 kills at a .594 clip, followed by Anna Haak (11 kills) and Jenna Rosenthal (nine kills, three blocks). In her first start, Sarah Rose tallied her first career double-double as she dished out a career-high 41 assists, collected 15 digs and posted two service aces. Defensively, Marquette collected 63 digs as a squad with four players in double digits; Rose's 15, freshman Martha Konovodoff had 13, classmate Hope Werch added 12 and senior Manon Geoffroy recorded 11 digs. DePaul (7-10, 1-4) was held to just 47 team digs. DePaul was led by Brittany Maxwell with 11 kills.

No. 14 Creighton 3, St. John’s 0 (25-15,25-20,25-19)  
Marysa Wilkinson became the 13th player in school history to reach 1,000 career kills as No. 14 Creighton completed a weekend sweep with a 3-0 win at St. John's on Saturday. Not even a fire alarm with CU three points from victory could slow down the Bluejays, who have now won 28 straight BIG EAST matches. Creighton’s Taryn Kloth led in kills for the match with 16 as the Bluejays record advanced to 11-4 overall. Lydia Dimke had 37 assists. St. John’s fell to 9-10 as Julia Cast led the Red Storm attack with nine kills.
