Butler got a career-high 17 points from Sean McDermott, but the Bulldogs lost at Maryland 79-65 in a Gavitt Tipoff Games matchup.  Kamar Baldwin added 15 points.  Maryland outshot Butler from the floor 57.4 percent to 34.3 percent.

Georgetown is 2-0 under coach Patrick Ewing after a 102-68 victory against Mount St. Mary’s.  Jessie Govan was the leader again for the Hoyas, registering 20 points and 14 rebounds.  Georgetown shot 57.4 percent from the field.
