MBB Minute -- Georgetown, Butler, Seton Hall Notch Saturday Victories

Georgetown, Butler and Seton Hall all scored 82 or 83 points in Saturday home victories that came by comfortable scoring margins.

Georgetown built a 40-19 halftime lead against Md.-Eastern Shore and rolled to an 83-57 win.  Kaleb Johnson tallied a career-high 24 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field and had six rebounds and four assists.  Jessie Govan, who has had a double-double in every game this season, posted 23 points and 14 rebounds.  Marcus Derrickson also had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Butler was backed by four players who scored between 19 and 16 points in an 82-65 victory over Furman.  Tyler Wideman scored 19 points and grabbed a game-high seven rebounds in only 18 minutes of play.  Kamar Baldwin contributed 18 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals.  Sean McDermott had 17 points, including 5-of-7 shooting from 3-point range.  Reserve Paul Jorgensen scored 16 points.

Seton Hall also placed four players in double figures in an 82-53 win against NJIT.  Desi Rodriguez, who has led the Pirates in three of their four games this season, had a game-high 19 points.  Myles Powell added 13 points and reserves Myles Cale and Sandro Mamukelashvilli each had 11 points.  Mamukelashvilli also had nine rebounds and four blocked shots.

Sunday is dark on the BIG EAST basketball schedule.  Eight of the 10 league teams will be in tournaments Thanksgiving week.
