No. 15 Seton Hall started quickly with a 12-2 run and went on to defeat local foe Saint Peter’s 84-61 Tuesday at Walsh Gym on the Pirate campus.  Seton Hall was the only BIG EAST team in action. 
 
Angel Delgado led the way with game highs of 18 points and 11 rebounds.  Desi Rodriguez added 17 points and seven boards.  Both players shot 7-of-11 from the field.  Rodriguez leads the Pirates in scoring with a 19.4 average.  Delgado is the nation’s leader in double-doubles among active players with 57.
 
No. 1 Villanova is the only BIG EAST squad in action Wednesday, taking the short bus ride to Temple for a 7 p.m. tipoff that will be televised by ESPN2.  The game completes the Philadelphia Big 5 schedule for the 10-0 Wildcats.  Coach Jay Wright’s teams have won 21 consecutive games in the city series and beat La Salle 77-68 this past Sunday.  This season, Villanova leads the BIG EAST in scoring margin at +22.3.  Jalen Brunson ranks first in assist/turnover ratio with a +3.7 mark.  He has 48 assists and only 13 turnovers.
 
BIG EAST teams have been running hot of late.  League squads have won 39 of the last 44 games overall (.887).  For the season, the BIG EAST non-conference record is 79-18 (.814), the best mark since 1988-89 (113-23, .831).
