NEW YORK – Creighton’s Marcus Foster and teammate Mitch Ballock have been named BIG EAST Player of the Week and BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, respectively, for their performances in a 2-0 week for the Bluejays, who are 10-2 this season and ranked 25th in this week’s Associated Press poll.
 
BIG EAST Player of the Week
Marcus Foster, Creighton, G, Sr. – Foster averaged 24.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals in a pair of victories.  In a 90-81 win against UT-Arlington, Foster pumped in 32 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals.  In a 116-62 victory over USC-Upstate, Foster scored 16 points in just 15 minutes of action.  For the two games, the senior shot 66.7 percent from the floor, 58.3 percent from 3-point range and 83.3 percent from the foul line.  This season, Foster is fifth in the BIG EAST in scoring with a 19.5 average.  
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Mitch Ballock, Creighton, G, Fr. – Ballock averaged 13.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists while coming off the bench in wins over UT-Arlington and USC-Upstate.  For the two games, he shot 7-of-13 from beyond the arc.  He scored 14 points in a 90-81 victory against UT-Arlington.  For the season, Ballock, who has taken Freshman of the Week honors three times, is averaging 9.2 points while playing 22.4 minutes per game.
 
BIG EAST Honor Roll
Kelan Martin, Butler, F, Sr.
Scored 20 points in each game of a 2-0 week.  Against Morehead State (85-69), he also had 10 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season. 
Sam Hauser, Marquette, F, So.
Averaged 25.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals in wins over Northern Illinois (79-70) and American (92-51).  Shot 11-of-20 from 3-point range.
Rodney Bullock, Providence, F, Sr.
Averaged 27.5 points and 8.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week.  Scored a season-high 31 points to go with eight rebounds and four blocks in a win over Sacred Heart (89-75).     
Shamorie Ponds, St. John’s, G, So.
Posted a game-high 28 points along with seven rebounds, four assists and two steals in a 77-73 victory over Saint Joseph’s. 
Khadeen Carrington, Seton Hall, G, Sr.
Averaged 20.5 points in a 2-0 week, including a 26-point outing against Wagner (89-68) when he was 6-of-6 from 3-point range.
