Head coach Jim Flanery picked up career win No. 300 as Creighton upset previously undefeated and nationally ranked Villanova in Omaha. Audrey Faber and Jaylyn Agnew scored 19 points apiece to lead the Bluejays (7-4, 1-0 BIG EAST), while Megan Quinn and Jannah Tucker scored 11 each for the Wildcats (10-1, 0-1). Creighton outscored Villanova 37-21 in the second half despite both teams shooting over 40 percent for the game. The Wildcats, ranked 18
th in this week’s polls, entered the game 10-0, one of just seven unbeaten teams in Division I. Villanova’s 10-0 start was its finest since 1979-80. The win for Creighton was its fourth in its last five outings.

RV/RV Marquette 74, St. John’s 72 (OT)
A late 15-5 run by the Red Storm forced the extra frame in Milwaukee but Allazia Blockton sank a pair of free-throws with 1:34 left in the bonus to clinch the win for the Golden Eagles. Marquette (7-5, 1-0 BIG EAST) saw four players in double figures, including a game-high 19 from Blockton. St. John’s (7-5, 0-1) was led by Alisha Kebbe’s 16 points. MU controlled the paint, outrebounding the Red Storm 49-30 and scoring 38 points inside to remain perfect at the Al McGuire Center this season (5-0).

RV/RV DePaul 89, Seton Hall 66
Kelly Campbell notched a triple-double of 11 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists while the Blue Demons scored 27 points off 20 Seton Hall turnovers as DePaul topped the visiting Pirates in Thursday’s league opener. SHU’s Donnaizha Fountain led all scorers with 23 points, while Ashton Millender led six DePaul players in double figures with 21 points. The Blue Demons (9-4, 1-0 BIG EAST) drained a program-record-tying 19 three-pointers, while The Hall (8-4, 0-1) saw its bench outscore the DePaul reserves, 33-27, led by Deja Winters’ 16 points.

Georgetown 75, Providence 43
The Hoyas rocketed out to a 19-0 start and never looked back, scoring 35 points off 30 Friar turnovers. Dionna White scored a game-high 25 points, shooting 11-of-18 from the field while adding eight rebounds, three assists and three steals. Georgetown (6-5, 1-0 BIG EAST) dominated the paint, with 42 of their points coming from inside the lane. Maddie Jolin led Providence (7-6, 0-1) with 14 points and six rebounds.
