Creighton and Georgetown each notched road wins on Tuesday by scoring 76 points.

For the Bluejays, it was a 76-67 victory at Butler which moved Creighton past the Bulldogs and into second place in the standings with a 7-3 record.  The win also gave the Bluejays a 20-6 overall record, the 17th 20-win season in the last 19 years.  Butler fell to 7-4 in BIG EAST play and 18-5 overall.

Creighton outshot Butler from the floor 55.8 percent to 40.9 percent, and the Bluejays were 13-of-21 from 3-point range, while the Bulldogs were 7-of-27.

Georgetown’s 76 points were just enough to win at DePaul 76-73.  The Hoyas’ L.J. Peak scored the game’s final five points, including a driving basket with 13 seconds left.  GU’s Rodney Pryor led all scorers with 26 points.  DePaul’s Billy Garrett Jr. had 25 points.  Garrett Jr. became the school’s all-time leader with 532 free throws made and moved into 11th place on the school’s all-time scoring list with 1,496 points.

Wednesday’s three-game schedule includes an FS1 doubleheader that begins with Villanova at Providence at 7 p.m. ET.  The Wildcats beat the Friars 78-68 on Jan. 21 at Wells Fargo Center behind Josh Hart’s 25 points.  Villanova is 7-2 in league play, a half-game ahead of Creighton.  Providence is coming off a 79-78 win at Marquette.

In the second game on FS1, Seton Hall travels to Xavier.  The Pirates will be aiming for their first road BIG EAST win this season against a Xavier team that will play its first game without injured Edmond Sumner.  Xavier is 5-3 in league play, while Seton Hall is 3-5.

In a 7 p.m. tipoff on FS2, Marquette and St. John’s meet in Madison Square Garden.  The Golden Eagles, 5-4 in the BIG EAST, play three of their next four on the road.  The top three scorers in the game are freshman guards.  Shamorie Ponds (17.2-3rd) and Marcus LoVett (17.1-4th) for St. John’s and Markus Howard (15.4-11th) for Marquette.  St. John's is 4-6 in the BIG EAST.
