Road teams go 4-0 as 18/16 DePaul, Georgetown, Marquette and Villanova earn Friday night wins.

18/16 DePaul 70, Xavier 43
After Xavier opened with a 4-0 lead, nationally ranked DePaul scored 13 of the next 14 points and never looked back en route to its fifth consecutive win. The Blue Demons took a 39-18 lead into halftime and remained steady in the second half, shooting 44.4 percent for the game while holding the Musketeers to a 29.1-percent clip. XU’s Marquia Turner led all scorers with 16 points while DePaul saw four players in double figures including 15 from Brooke Schulte. Jacqui Grant added a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds. The victory was DePaul’s 15th in its last 16 games.

Marquette 72, Butler 66
Marquette sank seven-of-eight free throws in the final 21 seconds of action and was able to outlast Butler at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The back-and-forth battle saw 13 first-half lead changes and the score separated by no more than seven in the second half. Natisha Hiedeman drained a three with 23 seconds left in the first half to give Marquette a lead it never relinquished despite the narrow gap. Hiedeman and Allazia Blockton finished with 14 points apiece while Erika Davenport added a double-double of 19 points, 11 rebounds to lead Marquette. Sydney Buck led Butler with 21 points, all coming from beyond the arc off a 7-of-15 three-point clip.

Georgetown 77, Seton Hall 60
The Hoyas led wire-to-wire in South Orange despite JaQuan Jackson’s game-high 23 points. Faith Woodard led Georgetown with 19 points off 6-of-11 shooting, while Dorothy Adomako (18) and Cynthia Petke (17) joined the senior in double figures. Georgetown used a 28-point third quarter to pull away from the Pirates before The Hall’s defense clamped down in the fourth to hold the Hoyas to just eight points. Georgetown scored 20 points on 16 Seton Hall turnovers.

Villanova 66, St. John’s 56
The Wildcats claimed a crucial season sweep of St. John’s, with the longtime foes separated by just half a game in the BIG EAST standings. Adrianna Hahn came out firing for the Wildcats, scoring 11 points in the first 10 minutes as Villanova carried a 20-14 lead after the first quarter. Rookie Kelly Jekot had the hot hand in the second, scoring seven points to push the Wildcat advantage to 42-29 at the break despite Maya Singleton’s first-half stats of 10 points and 10 boards. Villanova stretched its lead to 19 in the third, but St. John’s charged back in the fourth.  Alisha Kebbe made 3-of-4 attempts from the field over the final 10 minutes as the Red Storm shot 50 percent over the final 10 minutes while holding Villanova to a 10-percent clip. The 13-2 St. John’s run cut the Villanova advantage to just nine with 3:15 to play, and the Red Storm got as close as eight in the final minute, but Alex Louin sank five free-throws in the final 27 seconds to clinch the win. Singleton finished with 13 points and 20 boards, while Hahn scored a game-high 17.
