Villanova's Hart, St. John's LoVett Selected For MBB Weekly Honors

NEW YORK – Villanova senior guard Josh Hart has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week for the fourth time this season and St. John’s guard Marcus LoVett has been selected BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for a second consecutive week.

Josh Hart, Villanova, G, Sr.
Hart helped the Wildcats to a 2-0 week by averaging 18.0 points, 7.0 rebounds 4.0 assists and 3.0 steals.  In a 75-64 victory over Georgetown, the senior guard scored a game-high 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds.  In a 73-57 win at No. 24/25 Xavier, he finished with 11 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals.  For the season, Hart ranks first in the BIG EAST in scoring at 18.8 ppg and third in rebounding with a 6.7 average.     
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Marcus LoVett, St. John’s, G, Fr.
LoVett earns Freshman of the Week honors for a second straight week after scoring a game-high 19 points in a 78-70 win against Seton Hall.  He also dished six assists, grabbed five rebounds and made three steals, while hitting 7-of-12 shots from the field.  LoVett is the highest scoring freshman in the BIG EAST, averaging 17.3 ppg, which ranks fifth overall in the league.
 
BIG EAST Honor Roll
Andrew Chrabascz, Butler, F, Sr.
Averaged 16.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.0 steals in a 1-1 week.  Scored 21 points in a 68-65 win at Marquette.

L.J. Peak, Georgetown, G, Jr.
In a 1-1 week, averaged 20.5 points, 5.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds.  Had 20 points, five rebounds and four assists in an 80-62 win against Marquette.

Angel Delgado, Seton Hall, F, Jr.
Averaged 16.0 points, 12.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists in a 1-1 week.  Had 19 points and 15 boards in a 72-70 OT win versus Providence.

Donte DiVincenzo, Villanova, G, Fr.
In a 2-0 week, averaged 16.0 points and 4.0 rebounds, while shooting 10-of-15 from the field and 3-of-6 from 3-point range. 

RaShid Gaston, Xavier, F, Sr.
Shot 76.2 percent from the field, while averaging 18.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week.  Had 23 points and 10 boards in a 73-57 loss to Villanova.
