BIG EAST Player of the Week
Brooke Schulte, DePaul, Sr., G
Schulte was dominant in a 2-0 weekend for the nationally ranked Blue Demons, averaging 23.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 2.0 assists in home victories over St. John’s and Seton Hall. The senior guard racked up back-to-back double-doubles, beginning Friday with 24 points off 9-of-17 shooting and 10 rebounds in a win over the Red Storm. She followed that with 22 points, 12 rebounds and three dimes in Sunday’s victory over the Pirates. Schulte continues to lead the BIG EAST in scoring in league play at 21.7 points per game. This is her conference-best fourth BIG EAST Player of the Week certificate.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Andrayah Adams, St. John’s, Fr., G
In a 1-1 weekend for St. John’s, Adams averaged 15.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and .476 shooting, highlighted by Sunday’s game-changing performance at Marquette. The rookie guard totaled 27 points on 9-of-15 shooting, grabbed five boards and dished two assists as St. John’s scored an 82-72 victory in Milwaukee. This is Adams’ first BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honor and the fourth by a Red Storm player this season to go along with Alisha Kebbe’s three certificates.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Raeshaun Gaffney, Xavier, R-Sr., G
Gaffney led the Musketeers to a 53-43 win at Butler on Saturday with a game-high 13 points and 11 rebounds. She was a cool 8-of-8 from the free-throw line.
Marissa Janning, Creighton, Sr., G
Janning led the Bluejays to back-to-back road wins, averaging 13.0 points, 7.0 assists and 5.5 rebounds in victories at Villanova and Georgetown. Against the Hoyas on Sunday, the senior led RV/RV Creighton with 18 points, eight dimes and three boards, knocking down 6-of-12 attempts from the field.
Jade Walker, St. John’s, Sr., F
Walker was consistent for the Red Storm in a challenging Midwest road swing, averaging 16.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and .542 shooting, including a 3-for-3 clip from deep. She totaled 19 points and seven rebounds in Sunday’s win at Marquette.
Dionna White, Georgetown, So., G
In a 1-1 weekend, White averaged 15.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals, including a 16-point, 10-rebound, three-steal outing against RV/RV Creighton on Sunday.
Amani Wilborn, Marquette, So., G
Wilborn averaged 13.5 points, 6.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds and .625 shooting in a 1-1 weekend in Milwaukee. In Friday’s high-scoring win over Seton Hall the sophomore stuffed the stat sheet with 13 points, eight dishes and a pair of rebounds.
