Butler’s Allgeier, St. John’s Shee Earn Weekly Golf Honors
NEW YORK – Two freshmen have earned weekly golf honors. Patrick Allgeier of Butler has been named BIG EAST Male Golfer of the Week and Kaitleen Shee of St. John’s has been selected BIG EAST Female Golfer of the Week in the third weekly honors for the spring season.
BIG EAST Male Golfer of the Week
Patrick Allgeier, Butler, Fr. – Allgeier led Butler to team titles in the Benbow Invitational and the Bulldog Florida Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla. He carded a six-over par 148 (75-73) in the Benbow Invitational and tied for second in the Bulldog Invitational with a four-over-par 146 (76-70). His second round score of 70 tied for the lowest round of the day.
BIG EAST Female Golfer of the Week
Kaitleen Shee, St. John’s, Fr. – Shee shot a nine-over-par 225 (73-74-78) in the Spring Break Shootout in Dade City, Fla. Her score tied her for ninth place and was her third top-10 finish in her freshman year. The St. John’s team took eighth place.
BIG EAST Notes
Butler’s Lauren Tibbets led the Bulldogs with a pair of top 10 finishes. She tied for fifth in the Benbow Invitational with a two-round score of 157 (82-75), 13 over par. In the Bulldog Invitational, she shot 152 (78-74), eight over par…Villanova’s Lucas Trim shot a 70 in the one-day event against Coastal Georgia and Swarthmore at the Sea Island Golf Clup Retreat Course in St. Simons Island, Ga. Trim’s 70 was one stroke off the leader. The Wildcats placed second as a team.
